Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is a leading non-profit organization committed to safeguarding the environment and empowering communities to adapt, respond, and thrive in the face of climate change. Established as a coalition of Academics, Environmentalists, Agricultural Experts, Health Professionals, Building and Construction Specialists, and passionate community volunteers, FOURCi brings together a diverse range of expertise under one united vision—to protect our planet and secure a sustainable future for all.
At FOURCi, we believe that climate action begins within communities. Our interventions are designed to strengthen resilience, promote sustainable livelihoods, restore ecosystems, and raise awareness on environmental stewardship. Through research-driven initiatives, community-based programs, and strategic partnerships, we work to address the environmental challenges affecting vulnerable populations, especially women, youth, farmers, and rural dwellers.
We collaborate with government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, traditional institutions, and local communities to design and implement solutions that make a lasting impact. Core Staff & Project Managers: Hold advanced degrees in environmental science, forestry, sustainable development, and related fields. They maintain certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and specialized standards like the Gold Standard or VERRA for carbon projects.
Technical Experts: Our network includes certified agroecologists, licensed forest engineers, accredited auditors, and GIS specialists. They undergo continuous professional development to stay at the forefront of climate science and methodology.
Field Officers & Community Facilitators: Are locally recruited and extensively trained in participatory methods, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), and specific technical skills (e.g., nursery management, stove installation). They often hold national vocational certifications.
